Changes to Ecosystems
On Earth, we have a big variety of ecosystems. An ecosystem is a biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment. These ecosystems provide a place to live, grow, eat, and reproduce for its organisms. These ecosystems change due to natural processes but are changed by humans as well. Taking care of these ecosystem ensures all livings things can survive and thrive.
Ecosystems (or biomes) are how we divide up the regions of the Earth with different characteristics. For example, deserts are hot with little or no humidity, while rainforests are also hot but with high levels of humidity. It won't be necessary for you to memorize the different ecosystems, but you should be familiar with the basic characteristics of the tundra, desert, ocean, grasslands (savannahs), rainforests, deciduous forest, taiga (coniferous forest).
